FIBA Motorsport: The Introduction

The INNOVATION Files – Post 1

Like many car-obsessed teens, my story started with small plastic and metal cars. I would race them across the living room floor, admire them in display cases and if I was lucky enough, I would get more to add to the collection on birthdays or at Christmas!

That fascination turned into a passion through video games and endless hours of tinkering and before I knew it, my hobby had become a full-blown obsession. I never imagined that what began as a childhood dream would lead me here.

From A Dream To Reality

Fast forward a decade and I started a job in fabrication and welding, making kit cars and suspension components for Lancia Stratos and AC Cobra (how that came about is a story for another day).

When I wasn’t at work, I would use any spare time to create parts for my own car. Then I found myself helping friends and family out and before long, I was being asked to sell parts to people in the car community.

That’s when FIBA Motorsport was born… not from a business plan, but from a spark lit by the car community itself. What started as custom one-off parts for my own car turned into products people actually wanted. It was both humbling and exciting to see others trust and value what I built with my own hands.

Where It All Began

Now, you might be wondering… where did this all start? What chassis? And why that one? Some of you may already know but for those that don’t..

My journey began with the 2G DSM and DSMtuners.com. I joined the forum eager to learn everything I could about the chassis. Back then, I was new to it all and I wanted to know about all the possible upgrades!

When looking for information back then, I found that the engine side of things was incredibly well-supported. The suspension side? Let’s just say… not so much.

This then got me investing time into finding out the answers, thus why FIBA Motorsport is here today.

A special shoutout goes to my wife and her family for introducing me to the DSM world in the first place. Thanks to them, DSM is now in my bloodline (literally and figuratively!).

I would not swap it for anything and I’m so glad that I have a wife who supports my passion (and the endless car parts found around the house), and a community that supports the products that are made now.

The FIBA Motorsport Philosophy

At FIBA Motorsport, we don’t like to do “ordinary”. We design, engineer, and fabricate with precision and purpose, using many engineering techniques to push boundaries and redefine what’s possible in both the Aftermarket and OEM+ worlds.

Some of the methods and tools we use include:

  • CAD Design
  • FEA Testing
  • Laser Cutting
  • CNC Machining
  • Anodizing & Powder Coating
  • Plating
  • Welding & Fabrication
  • Prototyping
  • 3D Printing
  • Reverse Engineering

Many of these methods combined bring ideas to life in ways that make a real difference on the road or track.

The Road Ahead

FIBA Motorsport was never meant to be “just another parts brand”. OH NO… it’s driven by passion to create innovative, high-quality parts for enthusiasts who want the best, whether you’re building a street car, a show car, or a full-blown race machine.

This is just the beginning. The flame that started it all is still burning bright… and it’s only getting hotter.

Stay tuned. The INNOVATION Files have just begun.
