At FIBA Motorsport, we offer a full professional rebuild service for 1G DSM power steering pumps—restoring performance, reliability, and longevity to an aging and often overlooked component.

Why Rebuild Your Pump?

Power steering pumps contain internal moving components that naturally wear over time. This wear creates microscopic debris that contaminates the fluid and accelerates internal damage.

With most OEM units now decades old, common issues include:

• Fluid leaks
• Worn internal surfaces due to fluid contamination
• Dry-rotted seals and O-rings
• Noisy or inconsistent operation

Left unchecked, this can lead to further damage throughout the steering system or alternator if the pump leaks onto it.

Our Rebuild Process

Each unit undergoes a complete refurbishment:

• Full strip-down and inspection
• Pre-clean to remove grease and residual fluid
• Dual-stage ultrasonic chemical cleaning
• Glass bead blasting (critical areas protected)
• Pulley refinished and refreshed
• Housing coated (black or clear for durability), Steel back cover will always come black as stock
• Reassembly using a brand-new seal kit
• Stainless hardware used throughout, torqued to specification

Installation & Maintenance Notes

To protect your rebuilt pump: Always prime the pump with fresh fluid before use!

• Fully flush the power steering system before installation
• Remove all old fluid and contaminants
• Cycle fresh fluid through the system until clean and RED
• Replace fluid every 2-4 years to keep your steering system fresh and clean for a longer service life.

Failure to do so can lead to premature wear or failure.

Fluid Specification

• Use DEXRON III ATF only
• Do not mix with standard power steering fluid

Service Turnaround & Booking

Core options are available if pre-booked in advance and are subject to stock availability. please check before placing your order.

Typical turnaround time is 2–4 business days, depending on current workload.
If your timeline is critical, please contact us prior to booking.

Once your service is booked, you will receive an invoice that includes return shipping costs.
The invoice will also contain the shipping address to send your pump to—please print a copy and include it in your package so we can correctly identify your pump on arrival.

Shipping Instructions

Please package your pump carefully:

• Use bubble wrap or paper packing only
• Do not use expanding foam or packing peanuts
• Ensure the pump is secure and cannot move inside the box
• Use a strong box to begin with.

Your unit will be returned packaged in the same box
