Description
FIBA Motorsport OEM+ Shifter Cup Bushing
Also known as the Shifter Cup Bushing or Gearshift Link Bushing, this component was originally developed for our 2G DSM Short Shifter assemblies and is now available separately or as part of our complete 1G DSM and 2G DSM Shifter Bushing Kits.
Designed to replace the OEM component, our OEM+ version maintains the original function while incorporating several improvements aimed at increasing durability, precision, and long-term performance.
OEM Design
The factory bushing is manufactured from plastic, which works well for normal use but has several limitations:
- Plastic wears against the metal pivot shaft over time.
- Material flex can introduce additional play into the shifter assembly.
- The shorter body design concentrates shifting forces higher on the shaft.
- Increased leverage on the upper portion of the pivot can contribute to wear in the surrounding pivot bushings and linkage components.
While these effects are often gradual, they become more noticeable as mileage and wear accumulate throughout the shifter system.
FIBA Motorsport OEM+ Design
Our redesigned shifter cup bushing addresses these shortcomings while maintaining OEM-style operation.

Why Billet Aluminum?
Many enthusiasts may ask why we chose billet aluminum rather than reproducing the original plastic design.
The answer is simple: performance and longevity.
Just as drivers upgrade suspension bushings, engine mounts, and drivetrain components to reduce unwanted movement, the shifter assembly benefits from the same philosophy.
By eliminating flex at this critical connection point, the shifter can deliver a more direct and consistent feel while helping maintain precise operation over the long term.
This bushing is one component within the overall shifter system, but when combined with fresh linkage and pivot bushings, it contributes to a tighter, more precise shifting experience that can be enjoyed for years to come.
